Our Mission and Vision

The Center for Community Advocacy is a non-governmental grass root organization based in the South Side of Chicago committed to identifying and removing unfair social, political, economic, and systemic racial barriers. It is the expressed intent of CCA to empower those citizens historically impacted by these barriers, with an insight and awareness aimed at encouraging a vision of hopefulness and advocacy advancing the desire and will to break the generational curse of poverty and disenfranchisement evident in many communities of color.

Our Values

Inherent in the mission statement of the Center for Community Advocacy is the commitment to the following:

  • Perform issue analysis encouraging policy development reflective of a deliberative and objective information seeking process.

  • Provide leadership presenting initiatives, strategies and plans of actions directed toward removing those barriers that restrict the opportunity for an improved quality of life for those citizens trapped in the throes of poverty and despair.

  • Establish and maintain a communication network aimed at creating an informed community, creating beneficial cross neighborhood/community collaborative linkages.

  • Promote the cause of cultural and racial sensitivity.

  • Establish a community leadership training institute providing technical and other related assistance to existing and or newly developing community organizations.

We currently have three programs running:

1) Kuumba Theater - Children's Workshop

2) Career Exploration Club - Middle School

3) Housing Female Veterans Program

We welcome volunteers and supporters from all walks of life. Whether you can dedicate a few hours a month or are looking to make a long-term commitment, there are numerous ways to contribute to our cause and help us serve our community better.
